When Rick Santorum was fighting to save his Senate seat in 2006 he irritated us by wasting a Meet the Press debate with his opponent by spending much of it calling for increased military action in the Middle East and not mentioning immigration. This was frustrating because he had earlier shown signs of raising the issue, already a live one in Pennsylvania.
