H/T One Old Vet

On Monday, having skipped a day, the volume of Amnesty-related stories caused One Old Vet to revert to posting many in a compendium, this one totaling 16.

A particularly interesting one in the collection was Has Sen. Bennet really thought about immigration? By Philip Cafaro The Denver Post 02/11/2013

According to U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet's website, reforming immigration policy and combatting climate change are two of his key legislative goals.

But there is no evidence that the senator sees any connection between them, despite the fact that the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has identified population growth as one of the two key drivers of global warming, and that most of the increase in U.S. greenhouse gas emissions in the past two decades has occurred due to population growth…

Further increasing America's already generous immigration rates, as proposed by Sen. Bennet, could add another 145 million people to our population. That increase itself is equal to almost half our current population. It would ensure that the U.S. more than doubles its total population by 2100, to 669 million people…

Finally, why should Coloradans put solar panels on our houses, purchase more fuel-efficient vehicles, tax ourselves to support mass transit…if our elected officials are just going to negate those efforts by importing hundreds of millions more people into our country?

When Peter Brimelow embarked on the work which ultimately lead to Alien Nation, he was surprised to find how much interest there was in immigration restraint amongst otherwise leftish people who cared about the environment. Unfortunately corrupt forces in the leadership of the Establishment Environmentalist organizations such as the Sierra Club have succeeded in repressing these views and turning their outfits into the Green wing of the Democratic Party.

Amongst the stories OOV chose the feature separately was  Border Patrol Prioritizes Its Image Control Over Information Flow linked to Border Patrol tries to control image by Tim Steller Arizona Daily Star February 10 2013

Public affairs officers in Southern Arizona and along the Southwest border received an unusual directive from a regional spokesman on Feb. 1.

"All," William Brooks addressed them, "We will no longer provide interviews, ride-alongs, visits etc. about the border, the state of the border and what have you.

This story documents clumsy efforts by the PR managers of the Border Patrol to shut down knowledge of what the Agency is (or is not) doing.

Late on Monday night after carrying nothing all day, the Drudge Report did manage to find space for a valuable story linking to Many African-Americans concerned about Obama’s focus on immigrant rights  By William Douglas and Franco Ordonez McClatchy Newspapers Monday, February 11, 2013

WASHINGTON — No sooner did President Barack Obama and a group of senators separately outline proposals to revamp the nation’s immigration system than the phone lines on several African-American-oriented talk radio shows heated up with callers blasting the plans…

“The amount of blacks who are impacted by this legislation is so small it’s infinitesimal,” talk show host Earl Ingram said. “Minuscule”…

“I would say a bulk of my listenership is anti-immigration,” he said. “You have to understand that in the community in which I live the percentage of African-Americans who are unemployed. They look at what’s going on with immigration as an affront to African-Americans who can’t pay their mortgages because many of the immigrants come here, they are hired at less than minimum wage.”

Apparently Blacks warrant an exception to the rule.
