Two Democrats were discussing a woman named LaQueenia, who handled an event for homosexuals and other Democratic perverts at the convention.
Wrote one Democrat, “I’m going to have LaQueenia send out some options for next week. Hopefully we can all get on the phone and reenergize this event.”
The other Democrats wrote back: “LaQueenia is a NAME! I’m sorry, boo.”
Wrote the first, “LaQueenia is already my favorite.”
Of course, Mediaite described this exchange as racist. How it’s racist to criticize someone’s name the writer does not explain. We’re just supposed to take his word for it.
This brings to mind the the late Mike Royko’s “racist” column, when he took black mothers to task for the ridiculous names with which they saddle their children.
After a government bureaucrat confused “Maurica,” a woman, with “Maurice,” a deadbeat dad, Royko wrote this:
“I place the blame on Ms. Taylor's mother. She is the one who decided to name her child Maurica. ... None of this would have happened if her mom had named her Jane, Mary, Dorothy, Helen, Gertrude, Abigail, Nancy or some other clearly identifiable and traditional female name. . . . Some black names defy explanation.”Of course, Royko was driven into the public square on a hurdle and forced to perform the auto-da-fé.
