War Against Christmas: War Means Fighting, And Fighting Means...
On Friday I congratulated the Darlene's Place blog for raising the issue of the U.S. Postal Service's failure to supply a fresh religiously-themed Christmas stamp. This news has stirrred up quite a commotion and the the Post Service can look forward to answering a lot of questions about it next week.
Which is exactly what will get the attention of a bureaucracy.

A reader sends this reply to my Thanksgiving roundup. Deena Flinchum writes:
"What are these men doing that is so offensive? They aren't asking for handouts. They want to work to support their families and themselves."

Goodbye Thanksgiving - and Christmas, too?
Thanks, Oraculations, for alerting me to the opening outrage of what Michelle Malkin has aptly called the anti-Christmas season. The Darleen's Place blog yesterday published the following elegant account:
More On Alabama Employers Held Liable For Illegals Medical Expenses
I think DA King is heading on the right track here. A couple things I would suggest here:
1) I would make sure that illegal employers are fully responsible for all expenses involved with presence of illegal aliens. Many programs like social security have a modest redistributive effect from
well-to-do tax payers to those less fortunate. We need to make sure that illegal employers don't take advantage of those kinds of benefits.

Alabama judge rules illegal immigrant due workers comp for life Tuscaloosa News 22 November 2005 By JAY REEVES Associated Press
”Omar Santos-Cruz came to the United States illegally from Mexico and went to work building houses in one of Alabama's fanciest neighborhoods before he was seriously injured in a fall last year at age 17.”

What Karl Rove missed in Political Science class:
"Despite individual political achievements, Mexican Americans as a group are still not strong participants in politics. Rates of naturalization, registration , and voting are all low among Mexican-Americans.

Killer Cranberry Sauce Recipe
Here's a killer cranberry sauce recipe...easy too. Take a package of Ocean Spray whole cranberries, mix in about one cup of sugar and some orange zest. Put in 8" by 8" or similar sized pan, cover and bake at 350 for about 45 minutes. The minute you take it out of the oven, pour over about 1/4 cup of bourbon (or rum, brandy) and mix well. The alcohol burns off so no worries for non-drinkers. But what is left is a smoky, rich tasting sauce that everyone will love.
Illegal Alien Deported 17 Times Before He A Killed North Carolina Student
Last Friday, a man in North Carolina was killed by a drunk driver.
(The MSM has ignored this story for reasons which will be obvious in a moment but the local story can be found here.)
We read about these horrible accidents all too often however, this case is uniquely bad for a variety of reasons:
1. The victim was Minn Soon Chang—an 18 year-old freshman at the University of North Carolina
2. The drunk driver had at least 2 previous arrests for drunk driving
California's Increasing "Diversity"
The MSM likes to call immigration's demographic tsunami "diversity" but there's nothing diverse about what's happening to California: the population is becoming Mexicanized, as black and white Americans are being replaced by citizens of Mexico.
It's those Virginians again...
Virginia men in the form of George Washington severed America's link with Great Britain, and in the form of Robert E. Lee almost severed the link between the South and the North. Now, according to CNN, a "Virginia man" intended to sever George W. Bush from America. [Would-be Bush assasin could face life CNN.com November 23 2005]

Our Friends Tamar and MEChA
Sometimes I think we earnest reformers in the cause of saving America should retire to the nearest drinking establishment and let the obnoxious opposition do the heavy lifting.
Is not the annoying Tamar Jacoby our secret weapon, particularly when she appears on television? Her message of open borders appeasement, delivered in a high-decibel shreik, surely propels many fence-sitters to the side of order and sovereignty. You go girl!
"This Correspondence Will Now Cease"
The headline above was what British editors used to write in the early days of the Twentieth Century, when they got tired of a lengthy argument in their letter columns.
The latest, and perhaps final installment of Sailer vs. Taylor will be up on the front page a little later tonight.
Results Are In From The NRCC Immigration Survey
Just recently, the National Republican Congressional Committee posted a nationwide survey on their website-- The 2005 Impact of Illegal Immigration Survey.
Congressional Republicans are designing their legislative agenda for 2006 and the results from this survey will help them prioritize the issue because apparently, none of them actually live in the United States...you know, with the 12 million illegal aliens they mention in their first question!
Florida and Immigration: a Denslow come to Judgement
