Resolution on Immigration
Passed by the
State Republican Party Of Alabama, February 9, 2002
IMMIGRATION REFORM
Whereas, the
Immigration Act of 1965 has produced accidental and
unwholesome results throughout the Nation; and
Whereas, the Immigration Act discriminates
against those from countries from which the United
States has traditionally drawn its immigrants, and
discriminates
in favor of those from Third World countries; and
Whereas, the present policy no longer favors
immigrants who have the capacity to strengthen the
country, but admits many who immediately and
automatically become
dependents of society; and
Whereas, one manifestation of this policy is that
one-quarter of the prisoners in
federal penitentiaries are aliens; and
Whereas, the culture of the United States has
produced the greatest Nation in the whole history of the
world; and
Whereas, the present immigration policy if left
unchecked will destroy this culture and replace it with
an alien culture inevitably inferior to that which has
existed heretofore, and which has been a boon to all
races and countries; and
Whereas, the loss of this culture would threaten
the very
survival of Western Civilization itself, and thus
would be a catastrophe for all mankind; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OF ALABAMA,
that the Party be on record as being in vigorous
opposition to the present immigration policy and
strongly in favor of revising the Immigration Act such
that it reverse the present favoritism toward Third
World immigrants, and which sets a policy that would
restore the ethnic balance
prior to the enactment of the Immigration Act of
1965; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Alabama
Congressional Delegation be encouraged to work
assiduously for these reforms.
