An Australian Reader Reminds Us Of Courage Under
(Immigrant) Fire
A Reader Doesn't Like Being Called
Ignorant By The USCCB
An insulted reader writes:
Apparently, we are all "ignorant." This
article illustrates how the Catholic Conference of
Bishops (now
taken over by a very
leftist, socialist agenda) snubs their noses at the
facts and harmful effects upon our society due to
rampant, uncontrolled, illegal immigration. [Too
many Catholics believe immigration myths, bishops’
official says, urging church assault to debunk
‘ignorance’ April 20, 2007 Catholic Online

Calling us (those who oppose rewarding 20 million
illegal aliens with citizenship, and access to all our
social services) all "ignorant" does nothing to
advance their misguided cause on behalf of 20 million
illegal aliens currently present in this country. The
arrogance is mind-boggling. According to the
National Conference Of Catholic Bishops, immigration
reformers are now not only "racists,"
"xenophobes"
and
"nativists" but we are "ignorant."
James Fulford writes:
I dealt with this in
a blog post last year.
The Seattle Cathedral has a very
similar list of talking points online.
What are called "myths" in the latest story are all
facts.
Mark Franken, the executive
director of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’
Migration and Refugee Services, [Send him
mail] is quoted as
saying
“Too many of our fellow Catholics believe the myths:
immigrants are
criminals; immigrants
don’t pay taxes;
immigrants are
a drain on public resources;
immigrants
don’t want to integrate
within our society; immigrants are
taking our jobs. None
of these perceptions are real,” Franken said, adding
that for “many, many people perception is fact.”
When he says "None of
these perceptions are real,” he seems to actually
believe this, which is a manifestation of what is known
as
"Invincible Ignorance."
