Devlin Dr. Devlin’s review of Raymond Wolters book Race and Education is a good piece. However, I think you miss a very important aspect of the desegregation decision. It would never have flown if people had not thought it applied only to the South. The American majority was perfectly willing to sacrifice Southern whites to its own self-righteousness.
