Texas Reader Says Hispanics are Easily Offended A California Reader Is Offended by Chicano History ClassesFrom: [Name Withheld] Re: Byanna Bevens’ Column: Time to Hang My Confederate Flag I read Bryanna Bevens’ article with great interest. I particularly agree with her statement: "In contrast, non-white races may take pride in and celebrate the history of anything they want." As Bevens noticed, it gets much worse than mere celebration. Here is a link to an article posted at AmericanPatrol.com about a textbook titled "Occupied America" that is widely used in American colleges to teach the so-called Chicano history. Of course, no one in our public education establishment is concerned that the textbook is outrageously offensive to most non-Hispanic Americans. |
