My Mom told me that a Republican National Committee rep called a good church friend of theirs, in his eighties, asking for the usual "support." He crankily responded, "Not after last week."

What happened next really surprised me: the caller said, "Yeah, I know," then gave him the number of what I believe was the White House comment operator.
