In a report from KFYI radio in Phoenix, Arizona, numbers from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) indicate that more than 5 million illegal aliens hold mortgages.

These mortgages are spread out across the US and are a major factor in the financial crisis.

According to local Arizona sources, one illegal alien was arrested this year in Tucson after allegedly using a stolen social security number to buy two homes and rack up over $780,000 in bad debt.  

This story should be in every paper and on every television newscast.

However, shortly after the story posted, KFYI pulled the link (it appears here, on a Google cached page.)

KFYI subsequently posted another version wherein HUD disputed the 5 million figure. When the station pressed HUD for an interview, the spokesman refused saying that there is "no way" it would discuss the illegal alien-mortgage connection.

Citing its source as a retired ICE agent, KFYI stands by its original story.
