Small, but important, correction to James Fulford’s story on Matt Yglesias. Yglesias is not—most definitely not!—a “trained economist.” He has an undergraduate degree in philosophy, nothing more, and is consistently wrong when he writes on economic issues.
The reader really is a trained economist.
James Fulford writes: I had forgotten that about Yglesias. I knew he was consistently wrong, but I assumed it was ideological blindness. I mean, Paul Krugman is consistently wrong about many things for just that reason, and he has the Nobel Prize.
