Re: Learn, Whitey, Learn!” – Paul Kersey’s ESCAPE FROM DETROIT”, by Peter Bradley

From: Mark Mallarde [Email him]

Whenever I read a column on VDARE.com lamenting the state of black America, I ask myself what the point is from VDare.com's perspective.

VDare.com presents itself as a place where America’s immigration disaster can be discussed openly.  Indeed, VDare.com treads where few will tread.

But, however pessimistic one might be about the black underclass, these people are U.S. citizens—not immigrants.  They have ancestors that were here centuries ago and before the United States even existed.  Their ranks have contributed to American culture in profound ways, and they are going nowhere. Many of them carry some of the same European blood that longtime white Americans do.  No matter what their crime rate, their delinquency rate, their drop-out rate, etc., black Americans have every right to a government that advocates for them just as much as middle and lower class whites do

Moreover, blacks more than anyone else bear the brunt of immigration’s impact.  Instead of chastising the black Americans, VDARE.com should write about the social and economic terror that immigration was wrought upon them.

To borrow a phrase from our current president, we can no more disown them than we can disown white America.  After all, for better or for worse they are our countrymen.

See previous letters from Mark Mallarde.

James Fulford writes: What Mark Mallarde says about blacks and immigrants is very true, and we have said it ourselves repeatedly. Peter Brimelow has been saying it since 1996 [America's Assisted Suicide, National Review, November 25, 1996] and it's discussed in Alien Nation.

That being said, there are a lot of public policy decisions that can be taken with respect to race relations, things that can either be done (preparations for riot control in anticipation of the Trayvon riots, anti-flash mob policing) or not done (affirmative action, reparations).

The present regime of Political Correctness isn't necessarily doing blacks any favors. De-policing led to thousands and thousands of murders in Detroit. Most of the victims, as well as most of the perpetrators, were black.

After Katrina, Steve Sailer wrote:

"What you won't hear, except from me, is that "Let the good times roll" is an especially risky message for African-Americans. The plain fact is that they tend to possess poorer native judgment than members of better-educated groups. Thus they need stricter moral guidance from society."

This was called "The most disgusting sentence yet written about Katrina"  by John Podhoretz, but Sailer's point is that blacks were dying because George W. Bush refused to recognize the special dangers of a natural disaster in a majority black, black-run city, and wouldn’t see that there was a need for the Federal Government to take over from Ray Nagin.
