H/T One Old Vet

One Old Vet sprang back into action early today, publishing a compendium of 35 Amnesty related stories. Separately, there was a compendium of 7 stories on DHS Operation “Jail Break”.

Several particularly strong stories were carried individually including a video “Arizona Ranchers on High Alert because of Increase in Illegal Border Incursions” and an extremely annoying report More ILLEGALS Caught, Expecting Quick Release, Border Patrol Union Says

THE MONITOR | McALLEN — Illegal immigrants have started surrendering to local Border Patrol agents after crossing the Rio Grande, convinced they’ll be released by Immigration and Customs Enforcement…

“These are people that are just voluntarily turning themselves in to our agents with the expectation they’ll be released,” said Border Patrol Agent Paul Perez, president of the Rio Grande Valley union of the National Border Patrol Council. “When you cross with the expectation that you’ll be released, there’s no need to hide, there’s no need to run."

This has happened before.

Of the 35 stories, 15 were about the Jeb Bush row. Of these the most interesting was by Mark Krikorian at National Review Online: Jeb Bush’s False-Flag Operation March 5, 2013

Jeb Bush generated quite a bit of publicity for his new book yesterday by suggesting that amnestied illegal immigrants should not be eligible for citizenship…

Unfortunately, it’s a trick.

Jeb Bush, as you would imagine, has long been in favor of citizenship for illegal aliens. This “evolution” in his thinking is a tactic to offer a “compromise” version of amnesty that is somehow less distasteful to Republican lawmakers, as a way of duping them into voting for it, or giving them cover to dupe their constituents…

Krikorian makes a remarkable assertion, considering he is after all from the house-trained/Establishment segment of the patriotic immigration reform community:

When I say this whole debate over a “compromise” form of amnesty is kabuki, scripted out months ago by the open-borders crowd, I don’t mean that metaphorically…. It wouldn’t surprise me me if Angela Kelley and White House immigration coordinator Cecilia Muñoz have actually done conference calls with staff for Rubio and Bush gaming out this strategy. (VDARE.com emphasis)

The funniest story was Sen. Graham slammed by extreme immigration group for supporting reform Jane C Timm MSNBC 03/04/2013. The ‘extreme group” is the herbivorous NumbersUSA!

If hard-left MNSBC wants to protect Lindsey Graham, what does that say about Graham?

Very unfunny is Why Immigration Is a Top Priority for US Labor By Amy Dean, Truthout Monday March 04 2013

This is a softball interview celebrating the switch in stance by the Unions:

As recently as the mid-1990s, many unions took protectionist stances against allowing new immigrants to come to this country… Today, labor is one of the key forces pushing for comprehensive immigration reform in Washington, DC.

Interviewed is

Maria Elena Durazo. A daughter of Mexican immigrant farm workers, Durazo rose to become the leader of the hotel and restaurant workers union in Los Angeles, the dynamic UNITE HERE Local 11. And, as chair of the national AFL-CIO’s Immigration Committee Durazo is now a leading point person in the national immigration debate.

Durazo says

"What we are pushing for, and what is absolutely essential to us, is that there has to be a path to citizenship. There are a lot of details still to be figured out about this. But we say, ‘Don’t play games about a “path to legalization,” which leaves people halfway there, with half the rights.’ That is a game we don’t want to play”

Apparently it never occurred to Truthout's Amy Dean to find out if Durazo and the AFL-CIO are concerned about a renewed influx of wage-undercutting illegals after Amnesty – there is no discussion of border security. Neither, even more remarkably, is there any discussion of the Cheap Labor Lobby’s push for more legal immigration.

The reason for this is that now the leadership of the Unions, like the Sierra Club and the National Education Association, are primarily components of the Democratic Party Nomenklatura. This community is interested in gaining political power through electing a new people. It is not interested in the fortunes of American workers.

The Drudge Report had no fresh Amnesty stories, and continues to ignore the Jeb Bush furor. The link to yesterday’s Examiner story DHS plans to release 5,000 illegal immigrants due to sequestration has been carried over.

Mustn’t rile up the Serfs!
