Who Put The Hood On Dr. Seuss?

The latest non-crime to inspire panic is some student prankster's idea to put a pillowcase, looking like a KKK hood, on the statue of Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss) outside the UCSD Library. I'm going to repeat the nature of the crime here, in case you missed it--a student put a pillowcase on a statue. Does that justify this headline?

NYT: "Human Culture, an Evolutionary Force"

NYT genetics reporter Nicholas Wade has a new article with the self-explanatory title "Human Culture, an Evolutionary Force," using good old lactose tolerance as an example. It features a picture of a beautiful Kenyan highland meadow that might make even me want to take up long distance running. (Kenyan herdsmen are sort of "horseless cowboys" who hunt down strays on foot, so distance running ability is a useful trait for them.)

Hostile Muslims residing in Britain have become so arrogant about owning the place that they don't bother to lie about their intentions any more. For example, check out this interview with the head of Islam4UK (now outlawed, supposedly) Anjem Choudary, in which he says, Why no, Islam isn't a religion of peace at all.
