VDARE.com Editor Peter Brimelow writes:
The Memorial Day weekend is now celebrated as the beginning of summer, but it has a very serious origin: the “Decoration Days” that seem to have begun after the Civil War, when military graves were spontaneously dressed by grieving women every year in both North and South.
A few years ago, I wrote about an oral history of British World War II veterans that found, to the author’s consternation, a general bitter consensus that it had not been worth the effort. The key reason: Britain’s subsequent inundation by Third World immigration.
We cannot know for sure, of course, what America’s glorious dead would say about what has been done to their country since World War II—and above all about its threatened accelerated inundation by the current 2013 Amnesty/ Immigration Surge bill.
But I believe I know.
It is for this reason that I urge you to help us bring VDARE.com’s Spring Fundraiser to a successful conclusion. Donations are tax-deductible. Please click here—it’s about saving America.
You have my profound thanks.
